fiction or memoir - who cares?

Sam Shepard: The One Inside. 2017.

I have read Patti Smith (Year of the Monkey) and Smith mentioned Sam Shepard , kind of lead me to him, to Sam Shepard. There are similarities in their way of writing, of seeing things, of remembering, of forgetting or leavng out. But Sam Shepard - he is a playwright, a Pulizer - Prize- winning one and one can see that, that is the most poignant thread you notice when reading his text. 

The book is very fragmented. I know, some like it, some dońt but me, I love it, love short stories, full of life, love fragments leaving room for imagination, to thinking. Shepard´s book is very fragmented, as mentioned, but every one of these fragments (some very very short, some like short stories ) are like short movies, films, videos.
I loved this. 

The lyrical writing, the stories too strange to believe, the setting he writes in fron of the reader. 

And there are the forewords of Patti Smith. Yes, maybe this book is about Sam Shepard, of him, of part of him or not about him at all. Maybe it is about his father, maybe about the dead, dying but it is about love, diners, women passing in men ´s life, coyotes, preries, rail yards but the most bizarre story which lingers within the stories is a story of his father ´s very, extremely young, girlfriend and the tragedy of it. But, true or not, memoir or just fiction, I don ´t really care as the stories took me with them and I take this all as fiction and for me nothing need.s to be true in this book and I choose not to guess and I just enjoy the setting, the feeling, the mystery presented.
