walking in Japan

when one falls in love with the title of the book
This is one of those books where what's important is often what's left unsaid.
The pace is slow, walk pace.
There is a woman with her mother. They have not met in some time. They meet in Japan. This is the second time the daughter visits these places, the first time for mother.
They walk alot, they take trains, they eat in small places, they spend night in hotels. They do not talk much, a lot lies under their words, their in the evenings tired bodies.
It rains.
This book was recommended for me. Someone said it has same traits as my own writing. Of course that intrigued me, I wanted immediately know how other people see my text, how they see Jessica Au ´s and where lies the similarity. I think I recognised it yet I must say Au is a good writer. Her words know their place -they have been put to their place - and I need to write much more to get to that easiness ( if ever).
One thing, though, I don ´t know if it is a trademark, a branding hing, but the text is very tensely placed on the pages. It was difficult to read. There are not many pauses, empty lines, possibilities to breathe, to leave the reading, the book and go and grab another coffee. You need to make an effort to find the right line and it irritates me (not too much , though but I see I had to say it for whatever reason).
One day I wish I am almost as good as Jessica Au.
